Per Diem Nursing

Enjoy the freedom and flexibility to create your own schedule! Confirmed on a day to day and shift to shift basis, per diem nurses choose where, when and how often they work based on hospital needs.

That means you could work five different shifts at five different hospitals all in the same week…or not! It’s completely up to you.

So what are some more advantages of being a per diem nurse?

  • Create your own schedule and work to meet the wants and needs of your personal life
  • Choose the dates, times hospitals AND units you work
  • Mix it up! Work at more than one place and in more than one unit each week
  • Enjoy industry high compensation issued weekly
  • Broaden your horizons! Try new facilities with minimal commitment and make lots of new friends in the process
  • Spend weekends and holidays off! Hang with family and friends or clock in… it’s your choice, of course
  • Pick up shifts last minute, day or night, to earn some extra spending cash

Are there any disadvantages of per diem nursing?

Unfortunately, there are no guarantees in terms of what assignments will be available on any given day for a per diem nurse. There’s also the potential to be cancelled for assignments, even after confirmed by a hospital, sometimes at the last minute too.
However, Coast does work diligently to ensure that you get work when you want. We are experts in per diem nurse staffing; it has been our focus since 1979 and we have had tremendous success in delivering for our nurses for nearly 40 years now!

Per diem nursing is best for nurses who want total schedule flexibility and a new adventure every day.

Testimonials

"When I first moved to LA, I was unsure if I would be able to find steady work. A friend recommended Coast and I'm happy they did. The onboarding process was professional and efficient. Coast helped me find steady work within a week of my move at top hospitals. I know they have my best interest in mind and go the extra mile for me. Coast welcomed me to the family and made the move to CA worth it. "
